Woman Killed When Speeding Truck Driver Slams into Her House

I found this story on KTLA News.

This story is about a 45 year old woman named Glynna Rose Folkens who died after being hit by a truck inside her home. 19 year old, Christopher Segura, was said to be attempting suicide when he ran a stop sign, ran through a cinder block wall, and hit Folkens’ house. Folkens was pinned between the truck and her kitchen stove, she was rescued, but died later at the hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol. This happened around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday in San Bernardino. There were three other adults in the home during the accident, but they made it out safely.

My first reaction was how did this happen? How could a car just go driving into a house? It’s sad that this woman wasn’t even safe in her own home.

This 19 year old boy who may have been trying to commit suicide found a very awkward way to do so. I hate to see people who are thinking or trying to commit suicide. There are so many ways out there to get help, and I’m sure there is always a solution to whatever it is that is bothering that person that much; especially a 19 year old boy. The worst thing about it is that he killed someone else while trying to kill himself. If someone has the guts to kill themselves, don’t take others with you. This woman lost her life because a young boy wasn’t thinking. I wish that people who are having problems could go to someone for help before it gets so out of control that they think death is the only way out. People need to pay more attention to their kids, their friends, co-workers, or other people around them to see if these people are having problems. I know it is hard to tell if some people have depression, because they hide it really well, but if you see a someone you know who looks like they need someone to talk to, or someone to help them get through something, then try as best you can to take some time out of your own life to help someone else. Here is a site with signs of depression. Here is another site with 10 signs of suicidal behaviors. I feel bad for this woman; because everyone always thinks they are safe in their own homes. I bet she would have never guessed this would have happened to her. As for the 19 year old boy, I wonder if he saw the woman pined against her stove after the car stopped. You know he will carry the thoughts and images from this accident around with him forever. Let’s just hope he wasn’t trying to commit suicide because if it were an accident then he might be able to move on from this without blaming himself, but if this was an attempt to kill himself then he will have the guilt of what he did for the rest of his life.

Hopefully his family will get him the help he needs. As for Glynna Rose Folkens, I hope her family finds peace and can forgive what has happened and find a way to move on from here. I’m sorry for their loss.
