I found this story on KTLA News, it is a story from Downey, California. Daniel Ignacio Gil, from Bell Gardens was arrested him for being a suspect of molesting children at the Downey City Library. He is 28 years old, and is charged with “committing lewd acts on children.” The report said, “Downey police say a 9-year-old girl told her mother she was assaulted by the man at the library Monday night.” A 6 year old girl, one week before, said a man assaulted her after asking her to help him get a book. He is being held on a $200,000 dollar bail in Men’s Central Jail, and is facing 25 years to life in prison, if he does get convicted on May 14th.
My first reaction to this story is surprise, surprise. This honestly does not surprise me, for the fact that there are so many creeps and dumb a** people out there.
It sucks to hear about these little girls getting sexually harassed by some old perverted man; just when you were starting to think your child was safe, at a library. Seriously? I’m curious if this man has any kind of record previously to this situation. I’m so tired of seeing kids in such bad situations. For one thing, where the heck were the parents when all of this was going on? I’m sorry but I won’t let me kids play outside in our own yard without one of us being outside with them; even my 8 year old. I don’t trust anyone, and I wish all parents were like that; then 90% of the stories about children getting hurt would not be happening. People like this who sexually assault children in any way, shape, or form, should be put to death. I think our children are our future and when you put them in danger or corrupt them, and then it ruins the future of our country. I think someone has to be very very very mentally disturbed in order to harm a sweet, innocent, child. I think some stories should have some blame put on the parents. Obviously, parents aren’t doing their job very well. Our job as parents is to protect our children from everything bad in this world. THAT INCLUDES CHILD MOLESTERS!!! If you are in a public place and you have your child with you, don’t let them go anywhere where you cannot see them; keep them in your vision at all times. Doing this one thing can prevent a lot of disturbing things for children. Some people would be so surprised on how much this could increase their child’s life span, and keep them normal.
My son asked me the other day why he didn’t have any of his friends from school at his birthday party. I told him that most mothers aren’t ready to let their babies go out by themselves yet, especially if they don’t know the parents of the birthday kid. I also told him that that is exactly why we don’t let him go to friends’ birthday parties. We just aren’t ready to let our children go. I wouldn’t drop my son off with people I don’t know, because he is too young. Matter of fact, I probably wouldn’t even let him stay the night with a friend yet. I think he’ll have to be like 30 before I’ll let him. Now I just need to get the rest of America to feel the same way.
