This is a Los Angeles story I found on the KTLA News online.
Farrah Fawcett died from cancer at the age of 62. Her will has surfaced for the public and the news was shocking. She updated her will in 2007, when she learned her cancer had spread into her liver. She stated in her will she wanted to, "remain at home for as long as possible during any period of illness or incapacity and to die at home." She also wrote 24-year-old son Redmond O'Neal, and former boyfriend Greg Lott into her will. Leaving $4.5 million to her son, who is currently in jail, at the Los Angeles Jail, from struggling with drugs and alcohol. After getting out he will have specific money to buy a home, and receive a monthly allowance from the money left to him. Farrah also left $500,000 each to her father, James and nephew, Greg Walls. Along with $100,000 to former boyfriend Greg Lott, who said during a television interview, "Fawcett maintained a long-term relationship with O'Neal because of their son." Lott also stated he, "believed O'Neal and Stewart were using the "Charlie's Angels" star for money and fame." Farrah Fawcett died on June 25th at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, and left nothing to her "longtime partner" or her best friend Alana Hamilton Stewart, who filmed the documentary called, "Farrah's Story."
My first reaction to this story was curiosity. Why would she leave nothing to her lifelong lover, but leave $100,000 to a former boyfriend?
I'm sure there is more to this story that we may or may not ever know. There is definitely a reason for why she wrote her will the way she did. I remember seeing O'Neal and Stewart on the show "The Doctors" talking about how they took care of her and was there with her through every step of her cancer. The sad part was, these two people took care of her and spent their lives with her, and she left nothing to them. What did her ex-boyfriend do that was better than what O'Neal did? There is definitely more to this story. As for Lott's comment about O'Neal and Stewart using her for fame and money...maybe so. Although they probably truly miss her a lot, they sure do get a lot of publicity from her death. I think it is very sad that Fawcett had to go through such a bad ending in her life. She is so beautiful, and was such a huge icon to so many women. Farrah Fawcett was an actress who played in a TV series called "Charlie's Angels" in 1976. Fawcett also became an international sex symbol in the 1970s-1980s.
It is so sad that the will was written this way. For the 2 people who took care of her to get left with nothing. Although they should love her no matter what and the money shouldn't mean anything to them, it's still sad she left more to an ex-boyfriend, then the man who she spend her life with and had a child with.
